Neptune table runner |
Neptune small quilt. After I bought a bundle of someone's scraps, I tortured them into smaller scraps while trying (and failing) to create something worthy of this awesome fabric. Still, I love it. |
Close-up of chrysanthemum FMQ on this Garden Fence quilt for my sister's birthday. Blogged here. |
Flimsy of Melissa's quilt. Blogged here. |
Chris's quilt. I used the rest of the blocks from 2010's Bento Box, and made a lap quilt for my nephew's Christmas present. Flannel backing, FMQ. |

African rayon dashiki fabric turned into a churn dash quilt. Slippery to work with! |
Wedding gift: lap quilt for two, and matching pillow covers. |
Birthday quilt for Kathryn. Blogged here. |
Christmas Sampler. Stitch-in-the-ditch quilting, with some big-stitch hand quilting for embellishment. Flannel backing for coziness. A personal favorite! Blogged here. |
2010
My first: free-motion-quilted on my domestic sewing machine. Blogged here. |
I love this variation of the shoofly block!
|
Bento Box pattern, still not enough contrast!
Fabric from upcycled shirts, from a friend whose husband used to
wear Hawaiian shirts for his job at Trader Joe's.
FMQ in all-over meander stitch.
|
I used every fabric in my stash, and asked my sisters to
send fabric, so every windmill is different.
The black and white, polka dot binding is great with all the colors.
|
Playing with fall colors, and alternating blocks
for a setting that evokes falling leaves.
FMQ veins on the leaves.
|
These two Star in Star quilts were Christmas gifts for my nieces.
I followed a pattern in a book, then used scraps to make the borders.
(Notice the hst border that just joins randomly at the corners.)
|
2009
I used hand-me-down fabric, and sheets. |
With a layer of flannel as batting, this was my interpretation of stars in the night sky. |
My wonky square weren't very wonky, but I like the use of different yellows in the background. |
Playing with pattern alternating blocks. Still need to learn about contrast! |
And to learn about taking pictures! |
